ALTYNAI OSMOEVA Multimedia Artist In her work, creating new, often experimental forms, Altynai combines authentic textiles, fashion, graphics, performance, installation, sculpture, photography, light, color, sound and video. Nomadic culture, philosophy and aesthetics are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the artist. Freedom personifying nomadic women, horses and Kyrgyz taigans are often the subject of her muse and work. Altynai graduated with honors from the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, situated in London, where she interned at the world famous fashion houses helmed by Alexander McQueen and Erdem Mariouglou. Altynai is the founder of the ALTAI OSMO women's clothing and fashion accessories label. The label adheres to the principles of sustainable slow fashion, which is ethical towards the environment by using organic and renewable raw materials, among other things. Her exclusive pieces combine a minimalistic approach where textile reflects world heritages and artisan lore from all over the world. Having participated in many international exhibitions, Altynai has accrued various globally coveted awards, including, Vogue Young Talents (Milan, 2014); International Contemporary Crafts Biennale (Nantong, 2014); Saga Furs (Amsterdam, 2013, 2015); Creative Spark (London, 2020); Soros Foundation Stipend in Art (Bishkek, 2020), and is a recipient of more than one UNESCO Award of Excellence certificates. She is a member of the World Crafts Council and her work has been published, among others, in the book Felt byWillow Mullins, Surface Design and Italian Vogue.
