Yaroshenko Nikolai Alexandrovich

Nikolai Yaroshenko. 1846-1898. Famous painter, genre painter and portraitist, also painted landscapes. He was brought up in the Cadet Corps of the Artillery Academy. In 1867-1872 attended evening classes at the Academy of Arts. Since 1875 he organized exhibitions, a year later he became a member and after the death of I.N. Kramskoi - the ideological leader of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions (TPKhV). In his paintings and portraits he captured the images of many progressive figures of his time, characteristic representatives of the advanced intelligentsia, people from the people, revolutionaries.
